Eden sobbed into her dad's chest, "Did he get Lys? Where is Lys?"
"Where is Corbin?" Morticia asked as She grabbed and hugged Eden.
"Lys? Who is Lys?"
"He's the human who saved my life.... Daddy you have to go get him!" Eden yelled.
He disappeared. Eden wailed into her mother about how tired she was of being hunted and how scared She was both for Lys and her big brother. She sobbed and sobbed about it. Kane reappeared with Lys and Corbin. Lys turned and threw up from being teleported. Eden ran over and grabbed him in a hug, kissing him repeatedly. Morticia went to get something to clean up after poor Lys.
"Why was he So important to retrieve?"
"He apparently saved your sisters life. The truth in that remains to be seen. Put him in intake...."
"You are NOT putting him in an intake cell daddy! I won't allow it!"
"And you started making the rules when? Last I checked I was in charge of the Elite. Not you. And I am in charge of their safety. If this boy is innocent and won't kill us he will be out in-"
"Kane leave him be. He saved her life. And she loves him-"
"Loves him? She just-"
"We've been dating for three years dad."
Kane snorted, "Glad to be the last to know."

"I'm sorry daddy. I was going to tell you I just.... I know you don't like vampires and humans together and..."
"Who was after you that he saved you from?" Kane asked.
"It appeared to be union assassins. Why Eden though?" Corbin asked.
"They didn't want to kill her. They wanted to kidnap her and draw out the Elite to figure out where they are. That's what I overheard anyway," Lys put in.
"I heard some too... They're searching for us. Because you make it too difficult to dethrone the Hellsings. That's all I heard." Eden said.
"Damien is using Union as a front then..... I thought he had given up.... We need to stay off the grid and keep a sharp eye out for union alliances...."
"Union? ELite? What?" Lys asked very confused. Or at the very least feigning confusion. Corbin glared at him sharply, "if you intend to be with my sister you will learn the politics and family dynamic in due time."

"Aye, and I will learn. But in the meantime, that doesn't mean I know whats going on now. All I fucking know is that someone tried to kill Eden, and if I get a shot at whomever sent them after her, we'll have a goddamn reckoning. But for right now, I don't have a damn clue whats going on." Lys shot back heatedly.

Corbin looked at him, "The short version is this. We are essentially the royal guard for the Hellsings." he said, "The Hellsings booted the Marquettes off the throne. Damien was their leader. He's going after US to try and weaken the Hellsings or to barter his way back to the throne. So he tried to capture or kill Eden with that agenda." he explained, "You're lucky I told you that much. And I only did because I am telepathic and I know you're serious. I'm a little wary because Eden didn't tell us about You... But you're here....despite who you are and who we are.... By the way I am her eldest brother Corbin. The man Who teleported us is our father Kane."he said, "I will Talk to our mother about getting you a room near Edens. In the mean time I am sure she will make you at home. If you have any issues with anyone.... Let me know.... Some of our kind aren't too keen on outsiders."
"Thanks Corbin. You're the best big brother ever."
"Quit sucking up." he said, dropping the formal tone, "I'm the least of your worries. Dad is pissed and you know it. He stuck his neck out for Lys by going back to get him and he doesn't want it to backfire. So be sure that it doesn't."
She nodded, "You said you'd talk to mom right?"
"Yes. You two go to your room and get cleaned up and stay out of trouble. Dinner is at 630. Lys if you need clothes Malik is about your size. His room is across from Edens."
"Malik is here?" Lys perked up.
"I take it you're acquainted."
"That's how we met," Eden put in, "Through Malik. Anyway. Lets go Lys." she pointed out some of the people and rooms as they walked and knocked on Maliks door when they got to it.
"Yello?" he opened it and dropped his phone when he saw Lys. "What the fuck? How did...?"
"Long story. He needs clothes and a shower and we're already on dads radar so can you help him while I go and get cleaned up in my room? Corbin said if Lys had amy issues to tell him."
"Sure...so he's staying here with us?"
"Yes." she smiled as she went into her room. Morticia appeared, "Okay so... I have good news and bad news. Lys your room is going to be right here next to Maliks. That's the good news. The bad news is that Pandora and Ezio are here. Pandora is pregnant (with gio) and Ezio didn't seem too keen on the idea of you being around his wife.. .he is very protective of her. So stick close to one of us as much as you can. Pandora is a peaceful one she won't be a problem. She's Alucard Hellsings sister...the princess. But her husband is an assassin. A world renowned assassin. So be on your guard Lys. Malik, I told Corbin already. Just don't leave him alone if you don't have to while we butter them up to the idea. I know Alucard won't be thrilled but once your father talks to him he will understand. Alright?"
"The Hellsings are going to be on base? For how long? Hey Wynter knows Lys too I'm sure she can talk to Alucard...."
"They will be here until further notice. There was an attack on Wynter and Aerin as well." "An attack on Wynter?! Is she-"
"She's fine. She's engaged to you if she were harmed you would have been notified."
"Was it Damien?"
"Not sure. I know Alucard is very on edge...." she said as she walked off, mumbling about how much she hated being telepathic as she walked away.
"At least you'll have a few friendly faces with me Wynter and Eden here. Come on in here and take a shower and find some clothes and relax. You're going to get thrown into vampire politics way faster than you ever wanted to."

Malik popped out to grab Eden before dinner and went with her and Lys to the cafeteria.... He found Wynter and hugged her and kissed her. She asked about Lys and he shrugged, he had no idea. He looked at where Eden and Lys had sat down.... Ezio was glaring daggers in their direction....
"He's really not happy is he....he won't say anything will he?"
Wynter shrugged.
"Ezio isn't happy because Pandora keeps defending Lyserg. She sent a few soldiers to protect him when his father went after him after he killed Nikolai." Aerin said as she walked up, "She had a vision about it and acted on it without telling anyone else about it because she didn't want to delay."
"Wait... so Pandora sent those guys?" Wynter asked, "They told my dad they just happened to be around and wanted to ki'll them but Lyserg escaped. She told them to lie to my dad?"
"Apparently protecting Lyserg was more important to her for whatever reason. It isn't like her. But Alucard trusts her and Lyserg is safe here. So don't worry." she said, "Wynter let's go eat dear."
"I'm going to sit with Malik and Edenbif that's okay?"
"Of course." she said as Alucard walked by, following him.
"I wonder why Pandora cares about Lyserg so much....enough to piss Ezio off...."

Pandora walked over to Lys, "I hope they're making you comfortable. If you need anything let me know." She gently touched his shoulder and smiled. Ezio walked up behind her and ushered her away from Lys, saying something in Italian to which she shot something back angrily. He looked at her and they bickered quietly in Italian as they returned to their seats by Alucard and Aerin. Wynter winced as she walked over. She knew that their arguments were always quiet but severe.... She watched Pandora pull out of Ezios grip and storm off. He visibly rolled his eyes, "Come now Pandora...." he sighed and followed her, mumbling about pregnancy hormones....
Wynter looked at Lys, "So how do you know my aunt? Its not like her to go against Ezio that way....she holds him on a pretty high pedastle."
Malik looked at Lys. He hadn't told Wynter for fear Alucard would find out and tell Kane. He wasn't sure if Lys and Eden were ready to tell everyone just yet... That being said he was curious what Lys would answer.
Wynter heard both voices yelling in Italian a little ways off and watched Alucard and Aerin jump up to go mediate. Alucard told Aerin to sit down as he walked off to back his sister up and see what had peeved Ezio so terribly. He knew Pandora wasn't a yeller and if they were arguing that bad someone probably ought to break it up...
Wynter looked at Lys, "I'm waiting." she said, "Believe it or not this is not a thing. This doesn't happen. If you have something to do with it you may as well say it to us now because I am sure Ezio will tell my dad and if you expect us to stand up for you we need to know." she said, "If Kane gets involved you're going to be in a world of trouble I would advise you say something and fast." she said as the yelling continued and Kane stood up, exchanging words quietly with his wife before walking toward the argument.

Eden jumped up and ran after her father.....this was not good at all.....she booked it and caught up with her dad as he walked up. Ezio looked at them.
"Are you aware that your daughter intends to marry a human?" he told Kane, who was speechless. "Not just a human. A hunter. The son of the ones who have made multiple attempts on my wife and my family. I certainly hope you don't expect me to be HAPPY about that."
"Eden Michelle-"
"Daddy I was going to tell you....he was going to ask you....."
Pandora was in tears, "He saved her life. He killed his brother for her. She should be able to marry whomever she chooses." she insisted, "Regardless of his family, he has clearly put his allegiance with her....and with us."
"How do we know we can trust him?" Alucard asked, "His family tried to kill my wife and daughter."
"Because he is associated with her and they didn't know where to find her." Pandora said, "Please. Alucard. Ezio. Kane. Listen to me. He is harmless to us. He loves Eden that is the only reason he is here he has no other agenda other than to protect her." she insisted.
"We are telepathic. Some of us anyway. We will keep a careful eye on him, we will know if something is awry-" Alucard started.
"What if they have found a way to keep their thoughts from us?" Ezio asked, "Its not impossible...."
"He hasn't been and he wouldn't." Pandora said, "I would not protect him if I wasn't positive I was correct...."

"I am going to side with my sister on this, Ezio and only because I trust her intuition is correct. And I suspect in all honesty you do too and this is just sticker shock."
"I don't doubt the boys intention. And I don't doubt my wife. I doubt the fact that his family is incapable of finding us and hunting us HERE with him here." Ezio said. "As long as you're taking precautions to protect our family I assure you this fight is over."
"You know the safety of your family and my own is my top priority. I don't think Lyserg is a threat to us." Kane said, "I will talk to him and get the full story myself. I will make sure we are prepared if there could potentially be something coming out way. "
"And I trust you to keep your word. I believe this conversation is over. Shall we finish our meal love?"
Pandora nodded and followed him back to the cafeteria. Alucard retreated to join his wife again. And Kane looked at Eden.
"You're lucky I love you child ." he said and walked with her back into the cafeteria. Lys met them halfway.
"You and I need to chat after dinner." Kane said to Lys before returning to Morticias side.
"Yes sir." Lys said respectfully then looked at Eden, "Well?"
"He stood up for you. For us. I think he just wants to know what threat there could be from your family. And I'm sure he wants to talk you out of marrying me."
"He won't....he can't." Lys said As he sat back down to finish eating. He left Edens side to meet with Kane and followed him to his office.
"Now. Im sure Eden told you what just happened." Kane started, "I wouldn't stick my neck out for you if i didn't see the way Eden looks at you....I know that look. Its the same way Morticia looks at me." he said, "What I want to know, Lys, is why you alienated your family for her. Why would you choose to tie yourself to someone you know is immortal? You know the day will come when you're aging and old and gray....and she won't be. And you'll envy her....hate her even..... And the day will come when you die and she is forced to carry on without you for the rest of her life." he said, "What made you think this was the oath you wanted to take? You had the fame the fortune...."
"I hadn't considered any of those things. Because they don't matter. What matters to me, honestly, Mr. Dracul-"
"Please. Call me Kane."
"Kane, then. What matters to me most, is your daughter. My family killed your kind for spot r as long as I can remember. And suddenly I saw a new side, a side different than the vicious monster I had so long thought of vampires as. I saw the beauty. The tragedy of being forced to kill to survive. I saw the human side that I had never seen before in your daughter. And it seemed so....delicate. So precious....I wanted to do everything I could to protect her. I knew my family would never understand. I only prayed that you would."
Kane leaned back in his chair, "My daughter is far from delicate I assure you. She is fierce and strong, and brave and beautiful like her mother." he said, "Believe it or not Eden has a sister. She is the queen of Britannia. And currently her husband is helkbent on getting us off the throne to put his dear friend Jeffrey on it." he said, "And while we hate Legatto (believe me the feeling is mutual.) we want nothing more than our children's happiness and will not tell them who to love or who to associate with. So I am offering you an olive branch." he said, "I do expect you to tell me immediately if there is any potential threat to this base or anyone in it.... Including yourself. And to take care of my baby girl."
"Yes sir!" Lys almost jumped from his chair in happiness, "So we have your approval?!"
"Yes. And my wife's. It was her idea that I sit down and tell you instead of making you cone to me." he stood up, offering his hand, "Welcome to the family, son."
Lys fervently shook his hand, "Thanks....dad."
Kane smiled a little at that as Lys darted out to tell Eden the great news. Morticia was outside the door and laughed as Lys ran by, "You made his night honey." She smiled at him and gave him a kiss. She laughed when he whispered in her ear "Want to make mine?" and shoved him back into his office, closing and locking the door. And we'll. Yeah.
Eden couldn't believe her ears. "Are you sure that's what he said? He let you call him dad?! Are you SURE this is my dad were talking about?!"
